Are you a teacher of literacy? Whether it’s high school or middle school ELA or elementary school reading and writing workshop, I’ve got some great links to share with you today.

When you teach literacy, in whatever form or fashion, one of the hardest things is keeping up…with trends, with ideas, and with new books. There is an amazing community of educators out there that’s covering all these things (and more). And they’re waiting to welcome you with open arms.

I invite you to explore the following weekly roundups/memes of literacy-related blog posts. They are pretty amazing. In each case, I’ve linked to the most recent edition. Following any or all of the bloggers in the collection will help you keep up each week.

What I’m Reading Monday

Bloggers share the book(s) they’re currently reading. Great for learning about new titles!

Non-Fiction Monday

A weekly collection of non-fiction book reviews.

Poetry Friday

A personal favorite of mine…this meme consists of a wide range of different posts, from poets sharing original poems to bloggers sharing favorite poems and more. You just might see some posts from my super top secret poetry blog show up from time to time in the Poetry Friday round-up, too! (For this week’s edition, click the Mr. Linky graphic at the bottom of Dori’s post to see the list of contributions.)

Our fourth entrant is a pair of hashtags that are must-follows. They’re a virtually never-ending bounty of inspiration:

Teacher Librarian Chat (#TLChat)

This all day chat features all things literacy-related. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. Teacher Librarian is one of my dream jobs. The TLs that tweet are some amazing folks. Follow this tag ASAP!

#TitleTalk

This weekly chat is held on the last Sunday of each month from 8-9 PM Eastern. Each week there’s a topic related to books. The few times I’ve participated, I ended up each time with a list of about a million books that I needed to run out and buy/read. Maybe more than a million. I didn’t keep track.

Finally, I offer up a bonus sixth way to get your literacy fix. If you’re into blog subscriptions, I created a bundle of my favorite literacy blogs. You can subscribe to all of them with just one click if you’re a Google Reader user: http://bit.ly/EEliteracyblogs.

Hope this information is useful. If so, stay tuned for similar posts and all kinds of good stuff in the future by  subscribing to our blog.
